Notifications

Overview

The notification system keeps you informed about activity relevant to you. When a team member mentions you in a comment on a claim, you receive a notification so you can respond quickly. Notifications are accessible from the sidebar and from a dedicated notifications page.

Tip: Keep an eye on the notification badge in the sidebar to stay up-to-date with mentions and activity on your claims.

Notification Badge

A notification badge appears next to the Notifications item in the sidebar navigation:

  • Unread Count: Displays the number of unread notifications
  • Auto-Update: The badge refreshes automatically every 30 seconds
  • Hidden When Empty: The badge is not shown when there are no unread notifications
  • Quick Access: Click the badge or menu item to go to the notifications page

@Mentions

The primary way notifications are triggered is through @mentions in claim comments:

How @Mentions Work

  1. Open a claim and navigate to the comments section
  2. Type @ in the comment field to trigger the mention autocomplete
  3. A dropdown appears with a list of your company team members
  4. Use arrow keys or click to select the person you want to mention
  5. The mention is inserted as @First Last in your comment
  6. When you submit the comment, the mentioned user receives a notification

Note: You will not receive a notification for mentioning yourself. Only other team members are notified.

Mention Autocomplete

  • Search: Start typing after @ to filter team members by name
  • Keyboard Navigation: Use arrow keys to navigate the dropdown and Enter to select
  • Team Members: Only members of your company are shown in the autocomplete list

Notifications Page

The full notifications page provides a comprehensive view of all your notifications:

Filtering Tabs

  • All: View all notifications
  • Unread: View only unread notifications
  • Mentions: View only @mention notifications
  • Company: View company-wide notifications

Date Grouping

Notifications are organized by date for easy scanning:

  • Today: Notifications from today
  • Yesterday: Notifications from yesterday
  • This Week: Notifications from earlier this week
  • Older: Notifications from previous weeks

Actions

  • Click to Read: Clicking a notification marks it as read and navigates you to the related claim
  • Mark All as Read: Use the button at the top to clear all unread notifications at once

Notification Types

You may receive notifications for the following types of activity:

  • Mentions: When a team member @mentions you in a claim comment
  • Company Notifications: Important announcements from your company administrators

Tip: Each notification includes a direct link to the claim or resource it relates to, so you can quickly jump to the relevant context.
