Sales Channels
Retailers on serials, combining duplicate names and the retailer picker.
On this page
A sales channel is the retailer or shop that sold a product — the salesChannel column in your serial uploads. Donaraz uses it to limit promotions to certain retailers and to let claimants pick where they bought.
Where sales channels come from
Every serial you upload can carry a retailer name. Products → Sales Channels shows the detected channels from uploads, split into mapped and unmapped names.
Clean up duplicate names
Imports from different sources often spell the same retailer differently: MediaMarkt, Media Markt, MEDIAMARKT NL. Combine them without touching your serial data:
- Open Products → Sales Channels.
- Map each spelling to the same display name (communication name), for example MediaMarkt.
- Save. The spellings now show up under Combined groups and act as one retailer everywhere: in promotion settings, on the claim form and in reports.
The original names stay on the serials, so nothing is lost and you can regroup at any time.
Limit a promotion to certain retailers
Under Claim rules on the promotion, pick the qualifying products and, per product, the retailers that count. Leave a product’s retailer list empty to accept all retailers for that product. A serial from another retailer gets auto-check Check.
Ask claimants where they bought
Tick Customer must choose sales channel when claiming under Claim form & serial. The claim form then shows a retailer dropdown with the (combined) display names allowed for this promotion. When the chosen retailer doesn’t match the retailer on the serial, the claim is flagged for review.
Note: The option only appears when the promotion actually has retailers to choose from. Without any, the setting switches itself off.
