Customs & Non-EU Shipping
The product and company data Donaraz needs to ship to the UK, Switzerland, Norway and the US.

Parcels to countries outside the EU customs union — the UK, Switzerland, Norway, the US and others — need a customs declaration. Donaraz fills it in for you from your product and company data, so you add that data once.
1. Company identifiers
Go to Settings → Shipping Address → Customs identifiers:

| UK VAT number | Required for DHL to the UK | Only if you’re VAT-registered in the UK, e.g. GB123456789. |
Your company Tax / VAT ID from Company Info is used as the shipper VAT number — no need to enter it twice.
2. Gift product details
Open the gift (Products → Gifts → the product) and complete the Customs details card:

| HS code | Tariff code, 6–10 digits without dots. DHL needs 8 or 10 digits. Look it up in the EU TARIC database. |
| Country of origin | Where the product was made, not where it ships from. |
| Unit value + currency | Value of one unit in EUR or USD. Defaults to the Shopify price for linked gifts. |
| Unit weight | Net weight of one unit in grams. |
| Shipment type | Gift for promotion rewards (default). Also: commercial sample, sale of goods, documents, returned goods. |
The readiness chip on the card turns green when the product meets the strictest rules of all carriers.
What happens when you create a label
- No customs needed (EU to EU) — the label is created as usual.
- Customs needed and data complete — the declaration is sent with the label. UPS and FedEx also return a commercial invoice PDF, stored next to the label.
- Customs needed but data missing — no label is created. The error names the product and the missing fields and links straight to them.
Carrier notes
- PostNL outside the EU needs a PostNL GlobalPack contract.
- GLS doesn’t handle customs through Donaraz, so non-EU GLS labels are refused.
- FedEx needs customs details for every international parcel, also within the EU.
- Ship-only promotions without a linked gift product can’t be declared, so non-EU labels fail for those. Link a gift product with customs details.
Note: Donaraz fills in the paperwork, but duties and import VAT are between you, the carrier and the recipient. For gifts to consumers, check with your carrier who pays (DAP vs DDP) so claimants aren’t surprised by a bill at the door.
