Creating Promotions
Overview
Promotions are the core of your marketing campaigns on the platform. They allow you to offer products to customers, driving engagement and sales for your business. The platform provides a straightforward form to create promotions with essential information.
Tip: Currently, the platform supports product promotions only. Cashback promotions are planned for future releases.
Available Promotion Types
The platform currently supports one main type of promotion:
Product Promotions
Offer physical products to customers at discounted prices or for free.
- Set promotion name and description
- Configure availability dates
- Select shipping carrier
- Choose target countries
- Upload promotion image
Note: Cashback promotions are not yet available in the current version of the platform.
Step-by-Step Creation Process
Follow this structured approach to create promotions effectively:
Step 1: Basic Information
Required: Set up the foundation of your promotion.
- Promotion Name: Choose a clear, descriptive name that customers will understand
- Promotion Slug: The URL-friendly identifier (auto-generated from name, but editable)
- Short Description: Brief summary of your promotion
- Full Description: Detailed information about what customers will receive
Step 2: Promotion Dates
Required: Set when your promotion is active and when customers can claim.
- Start Promotion: When the promotion becomes active
- End Promotion: When the promotion expires
- End Claim Promotion: Last date customers can submit claims
Step 3: Promotion Configuration
Required: Configure the promotion type and shipping.
- Promotion Type: Currently only "Product" is available
- Default Shipping Carrier: Choose from your configured shipping providers
Important: You must have shipping providers configured in your company settings before creating promotions. If no shipping providers are available, you'll see an error message.
Step 4: Geographic Availability
Required: Select where your promotion will be available.
- Choose from countries activated for your company
- Only active countries are shown in the selection
- You can select multiple countries
Step 5: Promotion Image
Optional: Add visual content to showcase your promotion.
- Upload an image file (JPEG, PNG, JPG, or WebP)
- Maximum size of 5MB
- Preview the image before submission
- Image will be displayed on promotional pages
Form Validation and Requirements
Ensure your promotion meets all requirements:
Required Fields
- Promotion Name: Must be unique and descriptive
- Promotion Slug: Must be unique across all promotions
- Short Description: Brief summary required
- Full Description: Detailed description required
- Start Date: Must be in the future
- End Date: Must be after start date
- Claim End Date: Must be before or equal to end date
- Shipping Carrier: Must be selected from available options
- Countries: At least one country must be selected
Validation Rules
- Date Logic: End date must be after start date
- Claim Period: Claim end date cannot exceed promotion end date
- Uniqueness: Promotion name and slug must be unique
- Shipping: Must have shipping providers configured
- Countries: Must have active countries configured
Promotion Slug Management
The promotion slug is automatically generated but can be customized:
- Auto-generation: Slug is created from the promotion name
- Customization: You can edit the slug manually
- Format: Lowercase, hyphens instead of spaces, no special characters
- Uniqueness: Each slug must be unique within your company
Tip: Keep slugs short, descriptive, and easy to remember. They'll be used in URLs and can help with promotion identification.
Shipping Configuration
Shipping is a required component of product promotions:
Shipping Carrier Selection
- Choose from your configured shipping providers
- Currently supports DHL and PostNL
- Must have valid API keys configured
Prerequisites
- Shipping provider API keys must be set up in company settings
- Shipping addresses must be configured
- Countries must be activated for shipping
